Yes, we have an option to merge all sheet metal files with same thickness and material to the same DXF file. It doesn't perform any smart nesting, but just adds all the views one after another. You can also define an automatic note for each view e.g., based on custom properties and other special values which helps you identifying each DXF view from the merged document.

You are correct! It's an ERP integration rather than SW file integration. We create/update Odoo Products and BOMs based on the SOLIDWORKS design, and we can map Custom Properties and other design data to those Odoo fields.

We always support 4 latest versions, so CT 2023 supports SW 2020-2023. With SW 2018, the latest version you can use is CT 2021 SP3.

@@yousseffaid6519 You'll first have to install it. If you request a demo (at customtools.info), it will automatically give you the latest version (CT 2023) which is not supported in SW 2018. So you'll have to go to the Portal after registering, download and install CT 2021 SP3. After installing, the add-in will be automatically activated in SOLIDWORKS.

Not a problem :) You can use CT 2019 with SW 2016 as we always support 4 latest major versions. Print/Convert supports conversion to ParaSolid and File Conversion Rules have an option to convert all configurations. Since SW 2016 leaks quite a lot of memory, I'd recommend doing it in batches of about 200 files.

CUSTOMTOOLS integrates very well with PDM Professional (but not with Standard due to its API limitations). All CT operations can utilized references from PDM, document conversion to PDM have additional check-in and Property/Variable mapping settings, and also some PDM features like Serials can be utilized within CUSTOMTOOLS e.g. for more advanced file naming. Furthermore, CT's Print/Convert and Export features work also within PDM! This video demonstrates some of those features in PDM: ruclips.net/video/qhE1j06bO-U/видео.html If you are using PDM Standard, then CT treats your vault as a normal windows folder and keeps its own reference index. So everything works the same, but you'll have to make sure you have correct versions of documents locally available. You should also avoid renaming or relocating files within PDM Standard as CT's database wouldn't be able to keep up with those reference changes.

We have seen so many different revisioning processes different companies use that unfortunately I'm not able to give "fits for all" answer for that question. CT has revisioning functionalities, too, and they work great for many processes (e.g. when you want to create new file for new revision), but if you have PDM Pro, I'd recommend using its workflows and file versioning/revisioning capabilities rather than generating new files. But that's not unheard process either ;)

Hi Seth, The "second way" is one feature of SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner add-in, CUSTOMTOOLS for SOLIDWORKS. When the add-in is loaded and you save a model or a drawing in SOLIDWORKS, CT will index all the saved files and their references into its database. So this allows you to save anything anywhere and all CT features (Search, Print/Convert, Where Used, Open Drawing...) are still able to find all your documents.

It's the most usual case to export full structure at once, so yes this is very well supported and you don't have to open subassemblies separately. The Export can be configured for other BOM types, too: parts only, top-level only, with/without cut-list items, configurations grouped or separated, or custom scripted in case something more special is needed.

Hi Mai and thank you for attending the webinar yesterday. Our integration uses CUSTOMTOOLS which is only compatible with SOLIDWORKS. If you do not make any changes to the model but roll up the revision then we will only update the revision field in Odoo. You can control if you want the existing products to be updated or not in Odoo. CT cannot know if the model has changed or not, we can only detect changes in metadata defined in SW and Odoo.
